On Sunday Brian, my father, and I went to see Arlo Guthrie. He was here with his family (daughter, son, son-in-law, granddaughter and a member of his band) in the Guthrie Family Legacy Tour.
It was really neat, they sang a lot of Woody Guthrie songs. Arlo talked about his father's songs a lot. He was very funny. At one point he said, "My dad wrote some of these song 70 years ago, yet they are still relevant today. Either that means that the songs are really good or that the world still sucks!" I thought that was great. They also sang a lot of Arlo's songs. He told stories that went with them it was really neat. They ended with a song that his father had written, but never put music to. Arlo wrote the music. It was called "my peace". It was a really cool song about how the best thing we can all give to each other is "our peace" the peace that is inside of us. I thought that was a great message.
After the show we were able to get Arlo's autograph and shake his hand. That was REALLY cool. I talked to his daughter too who is also pregnant and due a few weeks after me. It was so neat to meet them both.
